Join us for Or Zarua's Fourth Annual Winter Retreat, our day-long Shabbat celebration, on Saturday, February 6, 2016. We will have a chance to davven, eat, sing, schmooze, reflect, play, learn and celebrate together.

SCHEDULE

12:15-1:30 p.m.  VEGETARIAN POTLUCK LUNCH

3:00-4:15    WORKSHOP
In honor of his recent bar mitzvah, Paul Sas will lead a workshop on magic in Judaism. As but one example, the magical talisman of the Hamsah is even today displayed in many Jewish homes. As Reconstructionists, we can explore together connections we might make with the concept of magic.

4:30-6:00   GROUP DISCUSSION ON OR ZARUA'S THEME FOR THE YEAR
During this discussion, we will have the opportunity to delve deeper into our theme for the year--place/displaced/home--on a personal level, sharing experiences about where we come from and how that has impacted who we are. Whether we've been involved with OZ for a long time, recently joined, or it's our first event, OZ discussions help us learn more about each other and deepen our connections as a community. (Facilitated by Emily Galpern)

6-7 pm DINNER PREPARED BY SARA SARASOHN, WITH DESSERT POTLUCK
(Please let Dan know if you can bring a dessert)
