Date:
We will gather at St. Albans at 1501 Washington Avenue in Albany from 9:45 am to 12:30 pm, to celebrate Shabbat, or you can participate via the Zoom link (posted below). We’ll be celebrating Or Zarua's 20th anniversary! We will also be celebrating Marcia Falk on the occasion of the honorary Doctor of Humane Letters she received last weekend from the Reconstructionist Rabbinical College. It will be a connected, lovely, and fun Shabbat experience together, whether you’ve been involved with OZ for 20 years or 2 months :-). We'll also have a vegetarian potluck kiddush lunch.
Please come at 9:45 a.m. to help set up, shmooze a little, and support starting the service right at 10:00 a.m.
Services will be followed by a potluck lunch. Please bring vegetarian (fish, dairy, eggs, honey OK) food or drinks, and bring a label listing the ingredients of what you bring for those with allergies or food restrictions.
If you are coming in person, please prepare to follow the Covid protocols described below:
All people who attend Or Zarua services in person are to be vaccinated, including an up to date booster.
Wearing masks is optional.
People who have cold or other illness symptoms should participate via Zoom.
Seating will be spaced out but flexible. Please feel free to rearrange your chair if you want to sit close to people in your household, or if you want to make sure you are a greater distance from others.
We will open windows on both sides of the room for air circulation, so it may be a bit chilly inside. Dress accordingly.
When we are gathered closely together around the Torah during the Torah service and during the Healing Circle, masks will be required for everyone. The Torah service leader should remind people of this at the time.
You may also choose to participate in the service on Zoom. The link and password are posted below.
